This week in reading, students will be reading and discussing different stories, identifying the theme of the stories, and writing compare and contrast paragraphs.

Students will continue reading their Historical Fiction Genre that is due on March 22.

This week the guidelines for the book report will be provided.

In math, this week children will learn to add a mixed number and a fraction, add mixed numbers, subtract a fraction from a mixed number, and subtract a mixed number from a mixed number.

In social studies, students will continue to learn about the U.S. Constitution and how the government was established. Please make sure children are reviewing the Bill of Rights. We will complete our study of the Lincoln Assassination and start learning about James A. Garfield.

Students will start working on an eight weeks research paper about their chosen state; children will be given State Research Report guidelines next week. The State Fair is tentatively set for May 11, 2018. However, the written response is due on May 4th to give students another week to practice their verbal presentation.

Please note: Children have earned their Dragon Pizza Party, which will take place on Tuesday, March 20th at 12:30 pm. Students don’t need to bring lunch that day.
